Some products on the platform require a brief consult with a licensed clinician before they can ship. This article explains what that means and what changes when a product is prescription-gated.
What "prescription-gated" means
A prescription-gated product cannot be added to your cart and shipped without a consult outcome on file. The platform connects you to an independent provider in your state; the provider reviews your intake and decides whether the product is appropriate for you.
- Intake review — you fill in a short medical questionnaire before checkout
- Provider decision — a licensed clinician approves, modifies, or declines your request
- Pharmacy dispatch — only after approval, the pharmacy partner ships in compliant packaging
Why some products require a consult
A few reasons:
- The product is a regulated medication (GLP-1, hormone therapy, etc.) and requires a prescription by law
- The platform's policy requires clinician oversight for the category (peptides, novel compounds)
- The clinic has chosen to require a touchpoint with a provider before fulfillment
What you agree to at checkout
When you proceed with a prescription product, you confirm that:
The information I provided in my intake is accurate, and I understand that the clinician's decision is independent and may not match my preference.
We log the acknowledgement against your account with a timestamp. This is important both for the clinic's records and for yours.
What this is not
This isn't a workaround for selling unapproved drugs. The platform monitors listings and provider decisions to make sure everything complies with FDA and state board regulations. If a product is being marketed or prescribed in a way that crosses the line, we pull it.
Questions
If you have questions about a prescription product, the clinic support team can answer non-medical questions (shipping, billing, returns). For anything about the medication itself, please message your provider through the client portal.
