Some clinics on Platform Health sell products that require buyers to be 18 or older. The first time you visit one of these storefronts, you will see an age confirmation screen.
How it works
The first visit shows a one-question prompt: "Are you 18 or older?". Pick the answer that applies. If you confirm 18+, the storefront loads normally. If you confirm under 18, you are routed to a page explaining you cannot purchase from this clinic.
We store the answer in a cookie that lasts for 30 days. After that, the prompt comes back. If you sign in to an account, we also store a verified age flag against your account so you do not see the prompt on a different device.
What if I am not honest?
The honor system is the legal floor. Clinics that sell age-restricted products typically also collect government ID for the first order, before fulfillment. If your age cannot be verified, the order does not ship and the clinic issues a refund.
Why every storefront sometimes asks
Some clinics age-gate even when none of their products are restricted. They do this when their entire customer base is adult-only by category (e.g., hormone protocols), as an extra layer of friction against minors stumbling into the storefront. We support this — clinics can opt in to gate at the storefront level, the product level, or not at all.
Turning it off
You cannot turn off the age-gate as a buyer. As a clinic, you control whether the gate is on for your storefront in Compliance → Age policy.
